Authorities in Marrakech have launched a judicial investigation following an incident on Friday involving a vehicle belonging to the National Police, after a suspect allegedly gained access to the vehicle and drove it through several areas of the city.
According to preliminary information, the individual accessed the police vehicle under circumstances that remain under investigation. Security services subsequently deployed resources to track the vehicle and bring the situation under control.
Several people sustained injuries during the incident and were transported to hospital facilities to receive the necessary medical treatment.
Security forces later succeeded in intercepting the vehicle and apprehending the suspect as part of the ongoing judicial investigation.
The inquiry is being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office in order to establish the full circumstances of the case and determine any legal responsibilities arising from the facts.
The incident also attracted significant attention on social media platforms, where many users called for the publication of official findings once the investigation is completed.
