Rabat – Euromed University of Fez (UEMF) has achieved a new milestone in global scientific recognition.
Eight of its researchers have been ranked among the world’s top 2% most influential scientists, according to the latest annual listing by Stanford University, published in partnership with Elsevier and the Scopus database.
This international ranking evaluates the quality and impact of research through rigorous indicators, including citation volume and reach, the h-index, co-authorship, and the overall influence of scientific work.
UEMF’s presence in the Stanford list has doubled within a year. In 2024, four of its faculty members made the prestigious ranking; in 2025, that figure has risen to eight.
The researchers recognized this year are Mostapha Bousmina, Chakib Nejjari, Abdelkarim Elkadib, Chakib Alaoui, Belkheir Hammouti, Taibi Ben Hadda, Rajae Salim, and Elhachmia Ech-Chibi.
Their inclusion, the university said in a press statement, is not only an individual distinction but also reflects UEMF’s long-term research strategy, built on rigorous academic supervision, a clear vision, and strong international openness.
The 2025 Stanford ranking includes 134 Moroccan scientists, consolidating the country’s presence in international research networks.
UEMF’s leap forward illustrates Morocco’s growing scientific momentum and positions the Fez-based institution as a central hub for knowledge and innovation.
UEMF recently secured another major recognition: the Round University Ranking (RUR) placed the institution first in Morocco and second in Africa, listing it among the world’s 360 best universities.
With these successive distinctions, UEMF continues to reinforce its role as a premier academic and scientific institution.
The university has increasingly positioned itself as a platform not only for academic excellence but also for sustainable innovation and societal impact, serving Morocco and the broader Euro-Mediterranean and African regions.
