Moroccan school of engineering sciences will open a branch in Nouakchott under an agreement sealed Monday between the Moroccan academic institution and Mauritania’s Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research.

The agreement will enhance further Moroccan-Mauritanian academic cooperation, a key pillar of their partnership which is gaining momentum under the leadership of King Mohammed VI and President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani.

The Moroccan engineering sciences school will build a campus for Mauritanian student engineers. It will offer them high-quality training adapted to local market needs in various specialties, including computer & network engineering, automation & industrial computing, civil engineering, construction & public works, electrical engineering, and intelligent systems.

It is a milestone initiative giving a new impetus to Moroccan-Mauritanian academic cooperation, setting new model of South-South cooperation based on solidarity.

Mauritania’s National Higher Education Strategy 2030 focuses on digitalization and Morocco can play a key role in knowledge transfer, given its advanced digital education programs.

Morocco stands as a regional education hub in North and southern Africa, particularly attracting students from sub-Saharan Africa through scholarship programs and institutional exchanges.
