Rabat – Meeting Monday in Doha, the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit voiced firm support for the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by King Mohammed VI of Morocco.
The gathering of Arab and Muslim leaders came amid heightened anticipation of a strong collective stance following Israel’s strike on Qatar on September 9.
In a resolution adopted at the gathering, heads of state from Arab and Islamic countries reaffirmed their support for the committee and its executive arm, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency.
Leaders noted the importance of sustaining efforts to help Palestinians amid the ongoing Israeli genocidal campaign and remain steadfast.
Morocco was represented at the summit by Prince Moulay Rachid, who led the delegation on behalf of King Mohammed VI.
The Moroccan delegation also included Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s ambassador to Egypt and permanent representative to the Arab League, Mohamed Ait Ouali, as well as the North African country’s ambassador to Qatar, Mohamed Setri.
The Al-Quds Committee, operating under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and chaired by King Mohammed VI, works to safeguard the legal, political, and religious status of the Holy City through its executive arm, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency.
Despite mounting challenges and restrictions on access, the agency has maintained its presence on the ground since the outbreak of the genocide in Gaza, channeling $6 million (MAD 59 million) between January 2024 and June 2025 into social assistance and development projects for Palestinians.
During this period, it also launched its 2024-2027 digital strategy, which provides Jerusalem’s youth with an incubator for renovation and innovation projects, alongside the “Bayt Al Maghreb” platform aimed at documenting and preserving the city’s heritage.
