Rabat – On Thursday, the Moroccan government reviewed and approved the implementation of an extradition agreement between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Originally signed in Riyadh on November 13, 2024, the agreement aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in legal and judicial matters, including the transfer of wanted individuals between the two countries.

Mustapha Baitas, Delegate Minister to the Head of Government responsible for relations with Parliament and official government spokesperson, announced during a press briefing that the government examined draft law No. 18.25, which ratifies and approves the extradition agreement.

This draft law was submitted by Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasizing Morocco’s ongoing commitment to international cooperation and adherence to the rule of law.

In the same government session, officials approved draft decree No. 2.25.565, which defines the composition of the Administrative Committee established under Law No. 24.96 related to postal services and transportation.

The draft decree was presented by Amal Fallah, Delegate Minister to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.

Following the session, Baitas explained that this decree implements Articles 10 and 11 of Law No. 24.96, which specifically address the formation of the administrative committee. This committee is responsible for approving technical specifications and terms of reference for the establishment or operation of transportation networks, the provision of transportation services, or both.

She talked about the committee’s vital role in regulating and supervising the transport sector to ensure its efficient and effective functioning, reflecting the government’s broader strategy to modernize administrative frameworks in line with digital transformation and reform efforts.
