    ayaAugust 3, 2026

The city of Tangier will host the third edition of the “Echo of the Roots” Festival from August 6 to 8, 2026, in celebration of Morocco’s Throne Day and the National Day of the Moroccan Migrant. The event is organized by the Sports & Cultures Association of Brussels (ASC), in partnership with several Moroccan and Belgian associations, with the support of the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Living Abroad, Bank of Africa and BOA EUROSERVICES.

The festival will feature a diverse program combining sports, culture and heritage. Activities will begin with the Moroccans of the World Football Cup at Branes Stadium in Tangier, followed by a cultural excursion to Rabat including visits to the Mohammed V Mausoleum, the House of Councillors, the Kasbah of the Udayas and the National Football Museum.

The event will conclude at the Ahmed Boukmakh Cultural Complex with a major musical evening hosted by presenter and composer Samir Bahajine. Performances will feature Moroccan and Belgian artists, including Abir El Abed, Widad Temsamani, Rafik El Maai, the Rissala Choir of Brussels and the Wajd troupe under the direction of Younes Fakhar.

The closing ceremony will also honor distinguished members of the Moroccan diaspora in recognition of their achievements and contributions, reflecting the festival’s commitment to strengthening the cultural and human ties between Moroccans living abroad and their homeland through a celebration of sport, culture and heritage.
