Princess Lalla Asmaa and the First Lady of El Salvador Gabriela Rodríguez de Bukele visited on Monday in Rabat the Headquarters of Lalla Asmaa Foundation for Hearing Impaired Children and Youth.

On this occasion, the Princess and the First Lady of El Salvador toured various wards of the Foundation and were briefed on the cutting-edge medical care, rehabilitation, specialized education, psychosocial support, and family training provided by the institution.

They also visited the Foundation’s summer camp, including the pedagogical greenhouse, the recreational activities and various workshops such as pottery, diorama creation, and sculpting clay.

The Princess and the First Lady of El Salvador also visited the aerobics room, English and American Sign Language (ASL) classes, remedial classrooms, high-tech workshops, and the speech therapy room including a robot designed to aid in the learning of sign language and an AI-powered speech therapy application.

Within the frame of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation’s humanitarian approach, twenty deaf children from El Salvador will soon benefit from Moroccan expertise in hearing impairment care, thanks to an initiative led by the Foundation.

They will join the 800 Moroccan children and 240 children from 21 countries across Africa and the Middle East who have received surgeries and support from the Foundation during an exceptional humanitarian mission since the launch of the NASMAA program in 2002.

Princess Lalla Asmaa also chaired, on Monday at the Royal Guests Palace in Rabat, a luncheon offered by King Mohammed VI in honor of the First Lady of El Salvador who is currently paying a working visit to Morocco.
