The Italian flagship vessel “ITS Fasan”, part of NATO’s Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2), has arrived in Tangier ahead of joint maritime activities and naval exercises with the Moroccan Royal Navy frigate “Sultan Moulay Ismail”.
According to a statement issued by NATO command, the planned exercises are intended to support maritime readiness and enhance cooperation between NATO forces and partner nations through operational activities designed to improve coordination and interoperability.
The program will include joint drills and operational exercises aimed at strengthening collaboration among participating naval units, while also facilitating the exchange of expertise and best practices in maritime operations.
These activities form part of broader efforts to enhance maritime security, improve operational coordination, and strengthen cooperation among partners active in the maritime domain.
