Police officers in Meknes, working in coordination with Morocco’s General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested three individuals suspected of involvement in drug trafficking after seizing more than 11,000 psychotropic pills and a quantity of cocaine.
Two suspects were intercepted at the entrance to Meknes shortly after arriving in a passenger vehicle from a city in northern Morocco. A search led to the seizure of 10,370 psychotropic tablets of various types, along with 204 grams of cocaine.
Further investigations enabled officers to identify and arrest a third suspect, who was found in possession of an additional 1,475 psychotropic pills.
The three suspects have been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine all the circumstances of the case and identify any possible criminal network linked to the operation.
