His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid presided on Sunday evening at the Royal Equestrian and Tbourida Complex Dar Es Salam in Rabat over the closing ceremony of the 25th Hassan II Prize for Traditional Equestrian Arts “Tbourida”, held from June 15 to 21 under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI.
Upon his arrival at the venue, Prince Moulay Rachid was welcomed by Moulay Abdallah Alaoui, President of the Royal Moroccan Federation for Equestrian Sports, before reviewing a detachment of Auxiliary Forces that paid the official honors.
The Prince then attended the final competitions from the official stand in the presence of government officials, elected representatives, and institutional figures.
At the conclusion of the event, Prince Moulay Rachid awarded medals to the winners in both the Youth and Senior categories. In the Youth category, the team led by Moqaddem Zrizaa Badr from Mediouna won the gold medal, while the silver and bronze medals went respectively to the teams of El Khadi Badr Eddine from Youssoufia and El Kazoumi Houssam from Guelmim.
In the Senior category, the gold medal was awarded to the team of Telhouni Mohammed Amine from Settat, the silver medal to El Hloua Abdelhadi from Skhirat-Témara, and the bronze medal to Anjar El Mehdi from Marrakech-Ménara.
Commemorative photographs were subsequently taken with the winning riders, whose performances highlighted the richness of Morocco’s traditional equestrian heritage.
Tbourida is considered one of the most emblematic expressions of Moroccan cultural heritage and has been inscribed since 2021 on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The 25th edition of the Hassan II Prize once again provided an opportunity to celebrate traditional Moroccan equestrian arts and showcase the expertise of participating teams from across the Kingdom.
