Police officers from the Tangier Police Prefecture, in coordination with Morocco’s General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested a woman on Saturday afternoon on suspicion of possessing and trafficking narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The suspect was apprehended in one of Tangier’s neighborhoods while allegedly caught in the act of drug trafficking. A search conducted during the operation resulted in the seizure of 7,600 prescription narcotic pills of various types, along with a sum of money suspected to be the proceeds of the alleged criminal activity.
The suspect was placed in police custody pending a judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor. The investigation seeks to establish the full circumstances of the case, identify any possible criminal connections or wider network linked to the activity, and determine the involvement of any additional suspects.
