Morocco and Ghana have expressed shared resolve to upgrade military partnership between the two countries’ Armed Forces and to explore means of expanding this partnership.

This came during a meeting in Rabat Tuesday between Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Zone, Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, and Chief of the Defense Staff of Ghana Lieutenant General William Agyapong, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom from September 28 to October 3, a statement from the FAR General Staff said.

Lieutenant General William Agyapong emphasized the importance of the visit made to Ghana in 2017 by King Mohammed VI, which laid the foundations for constructive and supportive cooperation between the two countries. He added that the two Heads of State share the same values of peace, African solidarity, and mutual respect, the statement said.

Ghana’s Chief of the Defense Staff expressed satisfaction with the exemplary ties between Morocco and Ghana, and qualified his visit to the Kingdom as a key milestone to facilitate strengthening military cooperation between both countries’ armed forces.

The two officials agreed to promote cooperation between the Royal Armed Forces and the Ghana Armed Forces, with a focus on exploring means to strengthen and expand this partnership, the statement said.
