‘We fear no one – not even Brazil’

Morocco’s under-20 coach, Mohamed Ouahbi, has called on his players to stay humble and focused after their 2-0 victory over Spain in their opening match at the U20 World Cup in Chile.

Speaking to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s official website, Ouahbi said: “We must remain humble. We didn’t come here just to beat Spain, but to go as far as possible. We must win every match we can. We have players with good potential, but in the second half our attacking line didn’t press enough. Starting against Spain without conceding is a good sign. We have to believe in our abilities and start preparing for the next game.”

Ouahbi expressed delight at the team’s performance, saying: “Alhamdulillah, we defended better. We are happy, but in the end, it’s only three points. We haven’t achieved anything yet; there’s still a long way to go.”

Looking ahead to their next match against Brazil, he added: “It’s Brazil, and we’re at the World Cup. As we said from the start, we fear no one. We want to play these games and win them.”

The Moroccan coach concluded: “We have confidence in this group, but we must stay humble. If we do, we can achieve great things, inshallah.”
