Rabat – A road accident on Sunday morning in the province of Chtouka Ait Baha claimed the lives of two women and left more than 18 people injured.

According to local authorities, the collision occurred in Ait Ammar between a pickup truck transporting agricultural workers and another vehicle carrying goods.

One of the victims died at the scene, while the second succumbed to injuries at the Mokhtar Soussi Regional Hospital, said Ibrahim Fayez, the provincial representative of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

Fayez added in a statement to SNRTnews that five critically injured patients were transferred to the Hassan II Regional Hospital in Agadir for urgent care.

The remaining injured were treated at the Mokhtar Soussi Regional Hospital in Chtouka Ait Baha.

Authorities have not yet provided details about the causes of the collision. Road safety concerns remain pressing in Morocco’s rural provinces, where workers often rely on improvised or overcrowded transport.
