Marrakech – Yesterday, Marrakech celebrated a major milestone in high-end hospitality, with the inauguration of the Pickalbatros Sungo Club in Ouahat Sidi Brahim.

The opening of this flagship property marks a bold step in the Groupe Pickalbatros Hotels & Resorts’ vision for luxury tourism, combining heritage, culture, and innovation to create a destination that elevates the city’s global standing.

Pickalbatros Hotels & Resorts continues to solidify its presence in Morocco, with a growing portfolio of properties in Marrakech and Agadir.

This inauguration marks the group’s seventh hotel in the country, underscoring its commitment to enhancing Morocco’s tourism sector.

Regional Marketing Director Mohamed Eid Soliman emphasized this dedication. Talking to Morocco World News, he stated, “Thanks to Mr. Kamel Abou Ali’s unwavering support, we strive to open one or two hotels annually in Morocco, focusing on Marrakech and Agadir. Looking ahead, we plan to expand into Casablanca, with new resorts and hotels slated for opening in the coming year.”

    A grand and grandiose opening

The inauguration ceremony was a vivid display of Moroccan tradition and spectacle. Guests were greeted by men and women in colorful traditional attire performing lively dances, immediately immersing attendees in the local culture.

Adding to the authenticity, a Guerrab, the traditional Moroccan water bearer, clad in bright garments and carrying brass cups, welcomed visitors, blending folklore with ceremonial grandeur.

A fire performer captivated the audience with daring displays, heightening the sense of excitement.

The presence of Kamel Abou Ali, president and founder of the Groupe Pickalbatros, was met with warm applause, emphasizing the significance of the new property for both the group and the city.

Beyond the celebration, the Pickalbatros Sungo Club represents a commitment to luxury hospitality that honors local identity.

    A special Marrakech hospitality

The hotel offers 341 rooms and suites, each carefully designed to merge authentic Moroccan architecture with contemporary elegance.

The decor and layout create an atmosphere of warmth and sophistication, offering guests a blend of comfort, cultural resonance, and modern amenities.

Whether for families seeking a leisure escape or business travelers requiring versatile spaces, the hotel’s accommodations cater to every need without compromising on style or quality.

The culinary offering is equally impressive. Guests can explore themed restaurants featuring world cuisines, alongside spaces dedicated to wellness, leisure, and events. The property’s sports and recreational facilities are extensive: a FIFA-standard football pitch, multi-sport courts, padel courts, and a fully equipped gym allow for both professional and recreational activity.

For relaxation, multiple pools, waterparks, and children’s play areas provide options for every age and interest, ensuring that every guest enjoys a full spectrum of experiences.

    A night to remember

The night concluded with a gala that epitomized the hotel’s spirit. Mohamed Atef, Hatim Ammor, and Kawtar Sadik delivered electrifying performances that had guests singing, dancing, and celebrating.

Poolside seating offered a chic yet relaxed environment, while the culinary experience delighted with fresh salads, grilled meats, seafood, Moroccan specialties, international dishes, decadent desserts, and premium drinks.

As the evening drew to a close, a spectacular fireworks display illuminated the sky, marking the hotel’s debut with a sense of grandeur and festivity, reminiscent of a city-wide celebration condensed into one unforgettable night.

The opening of the Pickalbatros Sungo Club is more than just a new addition to Marrakech’s hospitality landscape; it is a strategic statement of vision and purpose.

The hotel embodies the Groupe Pickalbatros’ three pillars: excellence in service, richness of experience, and the valorization of local culture and heritage. By combining luxury, cultural authenticity, and versatile facilities, the property sets a new benchmark for hospitality in Morocco.

    Welcome to Marrakech

This is a place where heritage meets modernity, tradition meets innovation, and every stay is an exceptional experience.

For the Groupe Pickalbatros, it is a bold affirmation of its role as a leader in luxury tourism, a showcase of its commitment to quality, and a celebration of Moroccan culture on a global stage.
