Rabat – The Moroccan Ambassador to Colombia and Ecuador, Farida Loudaya, was awarded the “Pedro Nel Ospina Vásquez Medal,” the highest honor of the Colombian Association of the Press and Media, during a ceremony held on Friday in Bogotá.

Loudaya received the medal in recognition of her efforts to strengthen understanding and friendship between Morocco and Colombia. She received the award from Alfonso Lopez Caballero, president of the Association, at the Historical Police Museum Palace. The event was attended by political, cultural, media, and institutional figures.

The ceremony included a special moment when the National Police Orchestra of Colombia performed Morocco’s national anthem. Ambassador Loudaya expressed her gratitude, stressing that the award was not only a personal honor but also a symbol of the strong friendship between Morocco and Colombia, who have shared diplomatic relations for more than 45 years.

“Under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco has transformed its geographic position and historical heritage into a strategic platform, becoming a natural bridge between Africa, Latin America, Europe, and the Arab world,” Loudaya said.

She spoke of Morocco’s active diplomacy and its commitment to cooperation in addressing shared challenges, noting that the country values friendship, respect, and progress as the foundation of relations between states.

Gustavo Casasbuenas, Executive President of the Association, commended the ambassador’s work in boosting bilateral ties. He also pointed out that Loudaya is the most decorated diplomat by the Association, proof of Colombia’s lasting appreciation for her efforts and dedication.

Relations between Morocco and Colombia have grown steadily over the years, covering areas such as political dialogue, economic cooperation, culture, and education. Both countries share a common interest in strengthening South-South cooperation, and their partnership continues to expand within international and regional organizations.
