King Mohammed VI has pardoned 681 convicts on the occasion of Eid Al Mawlid Annabawi, commemorated in Morocco this Friday Sept.05, corresponding to 12 Rabii Al Awal 1447 (Hegira calendar), said
the Ministry of Justice in a press release.

The list of the beneficiaries of the royal pardon includes inmates who were granted pardon over their remaining jail terms and convicts who had their prison terms reduced.

Some convicts benefited from pardon over their prison sentences or remaining prison terms. Other convicts saw their fines cancelled, while others benefited from both a pardon over their prison terms and fines.

The King usually grants free pardon to inmates and convicts on religious and national holidays.
