Israel Confirms Israeli Strike Targeted Hamas Spokesman Abu Obeida

Rabat – Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Sunday that the spokesperson of Hamas had been “eliminated” in a strike by Israeli forces’ strike in Gaza.

In a statement shared on his X account, Katz declared: “Hamas’ terrorist spokesman Abu Obeida has been eliminated in Gaza and has joined others eliminated from the axis of evil in Iran, Lebanon, and Yemen in the depths of hell.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also confirmed on Sunday that the occupation forces carried out a strike targeting Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for Hamas.

It remains unclear whether he survived.

Speaking ahead of his weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said, “We carried out a strike against Hamas’ spokesman, Abu Obeida. I hope he is no longer among us, but I note that no one from Hamas has clarified the matter.”

The IOF had announced the previous day that it struck a “key Hamas terrorist” in Gaza City without naming him.

The announcement comes as Israel continues it bloody genocide and starvation campaign in Gaza which has reached a deadly phase with no sign of resolution.

The already dire catastrophe has worsened since March 2, when Israel cut off food and humanitarian aid at border crossings.

More than 61,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023, and the exact death toll remains unclear as countless remain trapped or dead under the rubble.
