IBA Group & Berexia launch SoftPOS solution in Morocco – The North Africa Post

IBA Group, a multinational software service provider and Berexia payment, a leading technology services company, have joined efforts to launch SoftPOS solution in Morocco in cooperation with Al Barid Bank and Royal Air Maroc (RAM).

SoftPOS, or Software Point of Sale, is a software-based solution that turns any NFC-enabled smartphone or tablet into a secure payment terminal — without the need for additional hardware. SoftPOS enables merchants to accept contactless card payments directly on a mobile device using only an app.

Sami Metwali, Head of Products & Solutions at Berexia payment, said: “We integrated tapXphone SoftPOS solution to create a secure and flexible payment service that meets the needs of both travellers and airport staff.

In July 2025, Royal Air Maroc and Al Barid Bank announced a partnership to improve the travel experience and enable passengers to make secure contactless payments by tapping a bankcard or a smartphone on a tablet-equipped terminal.

Al Amine Nejjar, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Al Barid Bank, said: “We are proud to put our expertise in digital payments at the service of this pioneering initiative with Royal Air Maroc.

The digital payments market in Morocco is witnessing a remarkable surge, driven by a young tech-savvy population and e-commerce growth.
