    New Heatwave Alert Expects Temperatures Up to 47 °C in Morocco

    Rabat- Morocco’s weather alert expects rising temperatures to 47 degrees Celsius in some provinces across the country this week.

    The weather directorate also expects strong winds as well as thunderstorms and hail from Monday to Friday.

    Temperatures between 40 and 44 degrees will concern the provinces of Tata, Zagora, Khouribga, Ouezzane, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Meknes, El Hajeb, Fez, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, and Taza on Monday.

    The same weather conditions will also affect the provinces of Taza, El Kelaa Sraghna, Ouezzane, Rehamna, Beni Mellal, Meknes, Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Khourbga, Settat, Chichaoua, Marrakech, Khemisset, Youssoufia, Taouante, and Taroudant on Tuesday and Wednesday.

    From Tuesday and Friday, temperatures will reach between 44 and 47 degrees in the provinces of Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour, and Aousserd.

    Thunderstorms and hail, as well as gusty winds, are expected on Monday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the provinces of Errachidia, Figuig, Azilal, Al Haouz, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, and Boulemane.

    The same weather conditions will affect Midelt, Khenifra, and Ifrane, with expected rainfall accumulations ranging from 15 to 25 millimeters.
