Chelsea Cruise Past PSG to Win Club World Cup

Chelsea secured their first FIFA Club World Cup title with a 3-0 win over PSG, as Achraf Hakimi endured a frustrating night in New Jersey.

The Blues took control early, with Cole Palmer striking twice in quick succession – a powerful effort in the 22nd minute followed by a well-taken second seven minutes later. João Pedro added a third just before half-time to put the result beyond doubt.

PSG, featuring a full-strength line-up, failed to match Chelsea’s intensity. Hakimi, often a key attacking outlet, was largely pinned back by Chelsea’s high press and spent much of the match in his own half. His attempts to push forward in the second half were stifled, and his influence remained limited throughout.

Despite a late push from the French side, their hopes were dashed when João Neves was sent off in the 85th minute.

It was the first Club World Cup meeting between the two clubs. While PSG have edged past Chelsea in previous Champions League encounters, this time the Premier League side were a cut above.
