The city of Tangier is preparing to host the first edition of the Morocco Avocado Conference, scheduled for September 30, 2026, as part of an initiative aimed at creating a new international platform bringing together stakeholders from across the avocado value chain to discuss production, export and sustainability challenges, while exploring prospects for strengthening the competitiveness of Moroccan avocados in global markets.
The event will be organized by “Green Smile” and is described as the first large-scale international conference held in Morocco to focus entirely on the avocado value chain, according to the Moroccan newspaper “Assahraa Al Maghribia” in its Friday edition.
Tangier was selected to host the event due to its strategic location near the main avocado-producing areas in northern Morocco, as well as its strong connectivity with European and international markets.
The conference is expected to provide an opportunity for professionals and stakeholders in the avocado sector to exchange expertise and discuss challenges related to production and exports, alongside sustainability and competitiveness issues, while exploring new opportunities to further develop Morocco’s avocado value chain.
