Moroccan lawyers have stepped up their protests against the proposed law governing the legal profession by staging a symbolic demonstration outside Parliament, where they raised their black robes in protest.
They argue that the current draft threatens the independence of the legal profession and are calling for meaningful dialogue with professional bodies before the legislation is adopted.
The government, however, says the bill is part of broader judicial reforms aimed at modernizing the legal system and remains open to discussions and amendments.
