Major U.S. agricultural organizations have welcomed the Trump administration’s decision to suspend anti-dumping and countervailing duties on Moroccan phosphate fertilizers for eight months, describing the move as crucial for American farmers.
The White House stated that phosphate fertilizers are vital for food production and that domestic manufacturing alone cannot meet current demand. Moroccan supplies are therefore viewed as essential to ensuring stable fertilizer availability during the current agricultural season.
Representatives of soybean, wheat and broader farming associations said the measure will help lower production costs, improve fertilizer supply and support farmers facing rising expenses and ongoing global supply chain disruptions.
