Wahbi Provides Update on Mazraoui and Ezzalzouli Injuries After Norway Friendly

    ayaJune 8, 2026

Morocco head coach Mohammed Wahbi has expressed concern over the injuries suffered by Noussair Mazraoui and Abde Ezzalzouli during the friendly match against Norway, which ended in a 1-1 draw, while confirming that the medical staff is monitoring both players as they await the results of further examinations.

Speaking after the match, Wahbi said the encounter provided several positive lessons for the technical staff despite the absence of a victory. He noted that facing a strong opponent offered an important opportunity to assess different aspects of the team’s performance.

The coach explained that several players were given playing time as part of the squad evaluation process, adding that the numerous substitutions made during the game may sometimes affect rhythm and cohesion on the field.

Regarding the injured players, Wahbi stressed that the priority remains determining their medical condition. He stated that any final assessment will depend on the outcome of the medical tests currently being conducted.

According to preliminary information, Ezzalzouli sustained an injury involving his knee, while Mazraoui appeared to suffer a shoulder problem. However, the exact nature and severity of both injuries have not yet been officially confirmed, pending the completion of medical evaluations.
