Amendis Begins Sale of Obsolete Equipment in Tangier Ahead of Contract End

    ayaJune 2, 2026

Amendis, the company responsible for managing water, electricity and wastewater services in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, has launched a process to sell part of its decommissioned equipment and materials in Tangier as preparations continue for the end of its management contract in late 2026.

According to available information, the sale includes water meters of various sizes, metal equipment, cables and other recyclable materials. The operation is aimed primarily at professionals specializing in industrial waste recovery and scrap recycling.

The move comes during a transitional phase preceding the implementation of Morocco’s regional multi-service companies, which are expected to assume responsibility for water, electricity and sanitation services at the regional level.

Morocco’s Ministry of the Interior previously stated that Amendis would continue providing its services until the end of 2026, before the transfer of management responsibilities to the new regional entity under the national reform program.

The transition process is being closely monitored by local stakeholders and industry professionals, particularly regarding the transfer of assets, equipment and human resources as part of one of the most significant regional public service restructuring projects in recent years.
