The city of Tangier is hosting the 36th National Congress of Rheumatology, organized by the Moroccan Society of Rheumatology from May 7 to 9, 2026, with the participation of Moroccan and international specialists discussing current challenges and scientific developments in the field.
The event serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and professional collaboration among healthcare experts, aiming to support medical innovation and improve patient care in rheumatology.
Abdellah El Maghraoui, president of the Moroccan Society of Rheumatology, stated that the congress brings together leading Moroccan specialists and international experts, noting that this participation reflects the openness of Moroccan rheumatology and encourages the exchange of expertise regarding current issues in the discipline.
In a press statement, he explained that the scientific meeting provides an opportunity to discuss recent therapeutic and scientific advances related to bone and joint diseases while helping align national medical practices with international standards.
Fadoua Allali, head of the rheumatology department at El Ayachi Hospital in Salé, said the congress aims to strengthen cooperation between national and international rheumatologists and improve patient management through updated medical knowledge and clinical practices.
She added that the program includes training workshops for young doctors, as well as scientific sessions focusing on biologic therapies, chronic inflammatory diseases, medical imaging, artificial intelligence, and new diagnostic approaches in rheumatology.
