Tomato prices in European markets have recorded a significant increase since the beginning of the current agricultural season, reaching around 8 euros per kilogram in some retail outlets, amid a decline in supply coming from Morocco.
According to Spanish media reports, this increase is attributed to unfavorable weather conditions that have affected production, in addition to measures aimed at regulating prices at the local level, which has led to a reduction in export volumes.
At the same time, demand across Europe continues to rise, while forecasts indicate a gradual improvement in supply in the coming days with the start of the harvest season, which may contribute to a relative decrease in prices.
