Lamine Yamal, winger for FC Barcelona and the Spain national team, was named Best Young Athlete of 2025 at the Laureus World Sports Awards ceremony held in Madrid.
The award recognizes his performances throughout 2025, including winning the UEFA European Championship 2024 with Spain and contributing to FC Barcelona’s domestic treble, consisting of the league, cup, and super cup.
He has continued his strong performances this season, playing a role in his team’s campaign in the Spanish league, where Barcelona leads the standings ahead of Real Madrid with several matches remaining.
This marks his second Laureus award, after previously being named Breakthrough Athlete, making him one of the youngest athletes to receive the honor more than once.
