Meknes agriculture fair boosts Morocco’s farming sector

    ayaApril 21, 2026

Prince Moulay Rachid chaired on Monday in Meknes the opening ceremony of the 18th International Agriculture Fair in Morocco, held under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI from April 20 to 28, under the theme of sustainable livestock production and food sovereignty.

The event highlights ongoing efforts in the agricultural sector, particularly in relation to sustainability, climate challenges, and food security.

During the opening, recognition certificates for quality and geographical indications were awarded to agricultural cooperatives.

The fair brings together participants from multiple countries, with Portugal as guest of honor, alongside international agricultural partners.

Prince Moulay Rachid toured several sections of the exhibition, including livestock, food safety, digital agriculture, and agro-industrial sectors.

The event spans a large space and includes a significant number of exhibitors, cooperatives, and international delegations, with high attendance expected.
