Kamikaze Drone SpyX Tested in Morocco – The North Africa Post

The loitering munition SpyX has once again been tested in Morocco, as part of a series of exercises conducted by BlueBird Aero Systems, the company said.

The latest footage, released by the company on October 12, showcases the drone executing precision strikes on decommissioned armored vehicles in a desert setting.

According to the Moroccan defense-focused platform Forum Far-Maroc, the tests took place “in the heart of the Moroccan desert,” simulating near-combat conditions.

The video reveals a technical team operating in a windswept, sandy environment, deploying a mobile launch system equipped with a catapult rail. Surrounding the setup are control screens, technical cases, and weapon modules.

This marks at least the third known appearance of the SpyX in Morocco. Foreign media first reported its presence in June 2023, followed by a video of a test flight released in March 2024.

Designed for tactical units, the SpyX is a compact, electric-powered loitering munition. It carries a 2.5 kg warhead, reaches speeds exceeding 250 km/h, and has a two-hour flight endurance with a range of up to 50 kilometers. Its stealth and precision make it a formidable asset for rapid strike missions.
