Morocco’s U20 team suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Mexico in their final group-stage match at the U20 World Cup in Chile.
Despite dominating early exchanges and creating several chances, the young Atlas Lions failed to convert their opportunities. Mexico took the lead in the 50th minute after Mora scored from the penalty spot – the only goal of the game.
The loss did little to dent Morocco’s campaign, as they had already secured qualification to the round of 16 following victories over Spain and Brazil.
Morocco finished top of Group C with six points, ahead of Mexico (5 points), Spain (4), and Brazil (1). They will now await their next opponents in the knockout stage.
