    Nador West Med Port project on track for late 2026 completion – The North Africa Post

    Regional authorities convened in Nador this week to review construction progress on Nador West Med port, scheduled for operational launch by late 2026.

    The gathering emphasized this royal project’s strategic importance as economic and social development engine for Oriental Region. Governor of the Oriental Region Khatib El Hebil stressed strict deadline adherence for port commissioning, precise retrospective planning presentation, financing security, petroleum component project call finalization, electrical supply reinforcement, and renewable energy development.

    Additional priorities include implementing transitional solutions for wind turbine blade exports, securing land designated for industrial and logistics zones, researching necessary acquisition financing, establishing skills training strategies partnering with OFPPT, and accelerating housing supply studies.

    El Hebil characterized this structuring royal project as kingdom showcase and collective mobilization model where every institutional, economic, and technical actor assumes full responsibility. Nador Province Governor Jamal Chaarani emphasized electrical energy supply importance for promoters and investors planning industrial zone units while stressing respect for effective port operation launch dates.

    Nador West Med company director general presented detailed progress reports for each project component supported by updated retrospective planning, confirming port operationalization within fourteen months by late 2026.

    Other participants in the meeting provided data on estimated costs for electrical power reinforcement projects, progress updates on hydraulic projects and highway development, road doubling, and connectivity linking Nador to Al Hoceima.

    Discussions also addressed upcoming studies for acquiring land necessary for port-adjacent logistics and industrial zones, fishing village establishment progress, two new housing development plans elaboration, and ongoing housing study monitoring.
