Rabat – Rafael Louzan, President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), seeks to secure the right to host the 2030 World Cup final.

He made his remarks in an interview with Marca, where he said that Spain “must aim” to host the final, which he believes could be the “best World Cup in history.”

Spain will organize the World Cup 2030 alongside Morocco and Portugal.

“We are facing a benchmark event. There will be three continents and six countries involved, with Spain in the lead,” he said. Speaking highly of the prestigious tournament, Louzan said that the World Cup is enormous as it will create 185,000 jobs, as well as modernizing infrastructure.

Louzan also commended the opportunity of “sharing the sage with Morocco,” according to Marca. He said that the event will allow Morocco to modernize not only sports facilities but also its communities.

“Spain will act as the engine for companies experienced in major events,” he said.

Louzan also spoke of the candidate cities, including those for the final match.

“Valencia has strong chances because it will have the most modern stadium in Spanish football for that World Cup,” he said, adding that Spain is ready to provide up to 12 stadiums for the tournament.

Speaking on the final game of the potential host city, he acknowledged that “there is still a long way to go.”

“Spain will fight to host it,” he said. He added that shortlisted options include Madrid, Barcelona, and Morocco’s Casablanca.

“Spain accounts for 55% f of the organization’s weight and must aim to host the final of what I hope will be the best World Cup ever,” he added.

Morocco is also rallying to host major matches during the tournament, including the final.

Fouzi Lekjaa, President of Morocco’s Football Federation (FRMF), refuted reports that Santiago Bernabeu was selected to host the final.

“Decisions related to the World Cup are not made by club presidents, but the organizing committees of the three countries in coordination with FIFA,” he said.

For Lekjaa, the press is free to publish what it wants.

“But what is certain, until now, is that Morocco, Spain, and Portugal have earned the honor of organizing this global event.”

Morocco is readying multiple complexes for the tournament, including the giant Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium that was inaugurated in a friendly game between Morocco and Niger on September 5.

Morocco also seeks to host the tournament’s games in Fez Stadium, Marrakech Stadium, Ibn Battouta Stadium in Tangier, as well as in the Hassan II Stadium in Casablanca and Adrar Stadium in Agadir.
