RS Berkane earned a valuable 1-1 draw against ASKO de Kara in Lomé in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
The first half was cautious, with play largely centred in midfield. Berkane had a slight edge but failed to convert their chances, and the half ended goalless.
Two minutes into the second half, ASKO took the lead through Ouro-Ayeva.
Berkane took possession of the ball, creating many chances before Oussama Lamlioui levelled the score in the 77th minute after a fine team play.
Goalkeeper Mehdi Maftah impressed with several key saves to deny the hosts and preserve the draw, giving the Moroccan side an away advantage.
The return leg will be played next week, September 27, at the municipal stadium in Berkane. Kick-off is at 21:00 (GMT+1)
