Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication launched on Monday the 23rd edition of the National Press Grand Prix (GPNP) for the year 2025.

Organized annually on the occasion of National Information Day, this prize aims to pay tribute to Moroccan media skills across different journalistic genres.

This national prize includes several categories, including the television prize, radio prize, written press prize, electronic press prize, press agency prize, regional press prize, Amazigh journalistic production prize, journalistic production prize on culture and Sahrawi Hassani space, photography prize, investigative journalism prize, and caricature prize, according to a ministry statement.

An honorary prize is also dedicated to honor a national personality who has contributed substantially to the evolution and who has upheld the noble principles of the profession.

The statement also indicates that GPND awards another honorary prize to Moroccan journalists working in foreign media outlets, either in Morocco or abroad.

To participate, candidates must be of Moroccan nationality, have practiced the profession for at least three years in one of the national or regional media establishments, and hold a press card for the current year.

They must not be a member of either the organizing committee or the jury of the Prize, nor must they have won this prize during the last three editions, adds the ministry, noting that candidates can apply individually or collectively as part of a work team.

Applications must cover only one work for each prize category, except for the photography prize, for which candidates can present up to ten works maximum.

Additionally, each media establishment can propose the candidacy of a journalist or team working in the establishment.

The competing works must be presented as published or broadcast in one of the national or regional media during the period extending from October 1, 2024, to September 30 of this year. The statement noted that it is also mandatory for electronic press outlets to keep the competing works on their websites until the announcement of winners.

Participants should submit five copies of their works to the secretariat of the GPNP Organizing Committee at the headquarters of the Communication Department. Otherwise, works should be sent via email to GPNPl, accompanied by the Prize application form, downloadable from the website from September 15 to October 10, 2025.
