Chinese bus manufacturer Yutong has officially dispatched a fleet of 723 high-end buses to Morocco in preparation for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), the company said.

The buses are part of a comprehensive transport solution Yutong is providing to Morocco, which includes full operational support during the tournament, it said in a statement.

According to Di Bei, Director of Premium and International Production at Yutong, the vehicles were engineered to withstand Morocco’s diverse terrain and climate.

“Our R&D team conducted extensive simulations and lifecycle reliability tests to ensure the buses meet a 20-year or 2-million-kilometer durability standard,” he said.

The African Cup of Nations is seen as a test for Morocco’s readiness for organizing international football tournaments.

The country, to host the 2030 World Cup, together with Spain and Portugal, is investing heavily in mobility, including via the extension of Africa’s fastest train further south from Casablanca to Marrakech.
