Morocco’s construction sector demonstrated robust growth with cement deliveries reaching 9.63 million tons through August 2025, marking a 10.38 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the Ministry of National Territory Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy. The sustained demand reflects ongoing infrastructure development and real estate expansion across the kingdom.
Distribution channels absorbed the largest share with 5.27 million tons, followed by ready-mix concrete production at 2.42 million tons. Prefabricated concrete manufacturers consumed 984,097 tons, while infrastructure projects required 627,815 tons. Building construction utilized 280,154 tons, and mortar production accounted for 43,561 tons, demonstrating diverse sectoral demand supporting the construction industry’s expansion.
August alone recorded 1.34 million tons in deliveries, representing a 6.54 percent year-on-year increase, maintaining the growth trajectory despite seasonal variations. These figures underscore the construction sector’s resilience and its central role in Morocco’s economic development strategy.
The statistics derive from internal data provided by Professional Cement Association members, including Asment Temara, Ciments de l’Atlas, Ciments du Maroc, LafargeHolcim Maroc, and Novacim, which joined the association in January 2024. This comprehensive industry reporting ensures accurate market assessment and planning capabilities.
The sustained cement demand aligns with Morocco’s ambitious infrastructure agenda, including preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, renewable energy projects, and urban development initiatives.
