King Mohammed VI has sent a message of congratulations to the members of the national football team of local players, winners of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN-2024).

In this message, the King emphasized that he followed with great pride and enthusiasm “your well-deserved victory in the final of the eighth edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN-2024), jointly organized by brotherly Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.”

“It is a source of joy and pride to extend to you my warm congratulations for this continental victory, the third of its kind, which strengthens the exceptional recent achievements and performances of Moroccan football on the continent, while commending the efforts of all the members of the national team, players, coaches, technical, medical, and administrative staff, as well as the leaders of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation,” wrote the Sovereign.

The Monarch expressed, in this regard, his great appreciation for the players’ effective contributions, which are imbued with sincere patriotism, in securing this new African title, which will undoubtedly “serve as a strong source of motivation for our various national teams and sports clubs to move forward, permeated with a culture of victory, in order to win more titles.”

The Moroccan team of local players won its third African CHAN title, after it defeated its Madagascan counterpart 3-2 in Saturday’s final at the Moi International Stadium in Kasarani, Nairobi.

The Atlas Lions had already won the title in 2018 and 2020.
