King Mohammed VI has sent a message of congratulations to the President of Côte d’Ivoire, Alassane Dramane Ouattara, on his country’s National Day, wherein he hailed bilateral relations as exceptional.

In this message, the Monarch welcomed the deep bonds of brotherhood and solidarity that unite the Moroccan and Ivorian peoples, as well as the close and strong cooperation between the two countries.

“I assure you, in this regard, of My faithful readiness to pursue our joint efforts so that the exceptional Moroccan–Ivorian relations may be further strengthened, both bilaterally and regionally,” the King said in his message.

Also, on the instructions of the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, a FAR detachment took part in the commemoration of Côte d’Ivoire’s Independence Day.

The FAR detachment, part of the 1st Parachute Infantry Brigade, took part in the military parade in Bouaké on Thursday, alongside the Ivorian Armed Forces, the FAR General Staff said in a press release.

The FAR’s participation in these celebrations testifies to the strong and excellent relations of friendship and brotherhood that bind the two countries, particularly in the military field.

Meanwhile, Tangiers hosted the inaugural Ivorian-Moroccan Friendship Festival (FESTAIM 2025), highlighting the strong diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties binding the two countries. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1962.

Launched Thursday as a platform to foster intercultural dialogue and economic cooperation, the three-day event (August 7–9) aims to strengthen the historic relationship between the two nations and create new opportunities for collaboration.

The festival’s opening was marked by a meeting attended by institutional representatives and business leaders from both nations, setting the tone for a weekend of dialogue, networking, and celebration of the deep Ivorian-Moroccan friendship.
