National Agency Reassures Public, Urges Continued Donations

Marrakech – The Moroccan Agency for Blood and Blood Derivatives has reassured the public about the availability of blood supplies nationwide, stating that the current situation remains stable and under control. Regular blood donation operations continue across all regions of the country.

In a statement issued in response to media rumors suggesting a possible blood shortage during the summer period, the agency clarified that there is no imminent risk of supply disruption.

This stability is attributed to citizens’ growing awareness and their positive response to donation campaigns, ensuring that urgent medical needs are met.

The agency expressed gratitude toward civil society organizations and volunteer donors who respond massively to donation calls during high-traffic periods, demonstrating a spirit of national solidarity and collective commitment.

All blood and blood derivative needs of both public and private hospitals are currently being met on a daily basis, according to the same source.

This is achieved through precise and continuous coordination between regional blood transfusion centers and hospital facilities throughout the country.

While reassuring the public about the current situation, the agency renewed its call for all citizens to continue donating blood regularly.

The need for blood is not circumstantial or temporary but remains a constant requirement aimed at saving the lives of children, pregnant women, cancer patients, and accident victims.

The agency noted that blood donation remains an act of life, a civic duty, and a collective responsibility.

Earlier, on June 14, during the National Blood Donation Day, the agency launched a nationwide program of blood donation campaigns across different regions of Morocco in partnership with civil society organizations.

This program aimed to expand the base of voluntary donors and bring collection services closer to populations throughout the territory.
