Hospital Nurse Charged in Paris Suburb Child Abuse Case

A 26-year-old nurse from a hospital in suburban Paris reportedly faces charges for sexual assault on minors after authorities discovered videos involving infants, prosecutors announced Saturday.

The woman also faces charges for creating and distributing child pornographic images in a case that broke after viral videos spread on TikTok.

She worked in the neonatal intensive care unit for premature babies at Montreuil Hospital, north of the French capital.

The incidents occurred between December 2024 and January 2025, according to prosecutors in nearby Bobigny. The hospital has suspended the nurse from her duties.

The nurse turned herself in to police Wednesday evening. She blamed a 28-year-old man with whom she had a relationship, claiming he controlled her actions. Prosecutors charged the man as an accomplice to sexual assault, believing he orchestrated the crimes.

A judge placed both suspects under judicial supervision, despite prosecutors’ request to hold them in custody.

    TikTok videos sparked investigation

The case came to light after several TikTok videos warned about “a scandal at a hospital” in the area.

In one video that received over 1.4 million views, a man claimed “two people who work with babies are having fun mistreating Black children” and described the abuse as sexual in nature.

The man in the video called for people to “take to the streets to deliver street justice.”

Prosecutors clarified that race played no role in the crimes, noting that “one child is white, the other Black.”

Investigators have identified two victims from the videos so far.

    Hospital responds to crisis

The viral rumors caused panic Wednesday and Thursday, with worried mothers calling the hospital after giving birth there up to a year ago, according to hospital officials.

“The actions of this nurse, if confirmed by the ongoing police investigation, represent a serious personal misconduct that the hospital firmly condemns,” hospital management said in a statement.

“These are in no way collective practices of the service.”

The Grand Paris Nord-Est hospital group, which operates Montreuil Hospital, stressed that the alleged crimes were individual acts, not systematic problems within the facility.

The investigation continues as authorities work to determine the full scope of the alleged abuse and identify any additional victims.
