Palestinian Social Development Minister Samah Hamad expressed “heartfelt thanks” following Morocco’s emergency aid to Gaza, saying it will help meet urgent needs for food and medicine among Gaza’s starvation-devastated population.
King Mohammed VI has ordered the sending of emergency humanitarian and medical aid to Palestinians, particularly those living in genocide-torn Gaza.
“We express our heartfelt thanks to His Majesty the King for all his humanitarian initiatives,” Hamad told the Moroccan press agency (MAP).
She commended the King’s valuable efforts to support Palestinian resilience, especially for Gaza residents who face Israeli-induced extreme starvation and catastrophic living conditions.
The minister described the humanitarian aid as “extremely important” and said it reflects Morocco’s constant solidarity and unwavering support for the Palestinian cause under King Mohammed VI’s leadership, who chairs the Al-Quds Committee.
Hamad noted that “the situation in Gaza remains very difficult” due to widespread Israeli-induced famine affecting Gazans, particularly children.
She pointed out that Morocco’s aid will help address critical shortages of medicine and food supplies, amid the disastrous situation in the enclave.
The minister also hailed the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency’s work, which implements social projects to support Jerusalem residents and vulnerable groups.
Hamad revealed that her ministry has signed a partnership agreement with the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, a partnership which focuses on caring for orphaned children and children who lost limbs during the Israeli genocide on Gaza.
The program also provides necessary psychological support for these young victims.
The aid delivery demonstrates Morocco’s ongoing commitment to supporting Palestinians during their current humanitarian crisis, with King Mohammed VI personally directing these relief efforts through his role as President of the Al-Quds Committee.
