King Mohammed VI Orders 180 Tons of Urgent Aid to Gaza

Rabat – Under the instructions of King Mohammed VI, Morocco is sending nearly 180 tons of emergency food, medical supplies, and shelter materials to support Palestinians in Gaza through an arranged delivery route.

Gaza has been facing a genocidal war that killed over 50,000 while as many as 154 people died of starvation due to IOF’s blockade.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the aid consists of essential food supplies, milk and products specifically intended for children.

The aid also includes medicines and surgical equipment for the most vulnerable populations.

Blankets, suitable tents, and other equipment are also part of the humanitarian aid.

“The aid will follow a specially arranged route to ensure swift and direct delivery to Palestinian beneficiaries, the statement said.

It added that the new humanitarian campaign reflects Morocco’s “ongoing, concrete solidarity and the unwavering” of King Mohammed VI to the Palestinian cause and its brotherly people.

The news comes shortly after a report from Israel Hayom, which said today that King Mohammed VI previously asked Benjamin Netanyahu to allow humanitarian assistance to enter Gaza from Morocco.

“Morocco wants to fly in aid, mainly food, to Ben-Gurion Airport and then transport it by truck to the Kerem Shalom crossing,” the news outlet reported today.

In June 2024, the monarch had sent urgent directives to deploy a medical aid operation for the people in Gaza. The aid package included 40 tons of medical supplies, with the aim of addressing medical needs amid the IOF’s genocide.

In March of the same year, Morocco also sent 40 tons of humanitarian aid to alleviate the situation in Gaza.
