Rabat – Telecommunications operator Maroc Telecom reported today that its customer base exceeded 80 million customers in the first half of 2025.

The number marks a 2.3% increase compared to the same period last year. The company attributed the growth to a 3.7%  increase in customer bases across its subsidiaries amid a “highly competitive and regulated market environment.”

Maroc Telecom, citing assessment results as of June 30, said that its mobile customer base reached 18.93 million clients.

The fixed-line segment recorded over 1.6 million lines during the same period, while the broadband segment reached more than 1.4 million subscribers.

At the international level, the mobile customer base stood at more than 57.50 million clients, distributed across Burkina Faso with over 12.21 million customers, followed by Cote d’Ivoire (more than 11.96 million customers), Mali (more than 8.43 million customers), Chad ( more than 7.26 million customers,) and Benin (more than 5.54 million customers).

The company’s customers are also distributed across Niger with over 4.14 million customers, Mauritania with over 2.5 million clients, Gabon (over 1.6 million), and the Central African Republic with more than 280,000 clients.

On the continent, the fixed line customer base reached 388,000, distributed across Mali, Burkina Faso, Gabon, and Mauritania.

In 2024, the leading telecommunications operator reported a slight decline of 0.4% in its 2024 net profit.

The group, however, consolidated revenue reached over $3.67 billion, marking an increase of 1.2%, driven by a 4.6% revenue growth from its Moov Africa subsidiaries.
