Rabat – Jude Bellingham has undergone successful surgery for a long-standing shoulder dislocation issue and will be out for approximately 12 weeks.
Real Madrid’s midfielder has struggled with the complication ever since 2023, when he dislocated his left shoulder during a match but continued playing, later missing about three weeks of action.
Bellingham postponed the operation right after Madrid’s semifinals in the Club World Cup this year, with the guidance of Xabi Alonso. The England midfielder played through pain and used protective gear, as he featured in over 100 games despite the constant pain.
The 22-year-old midfielder will miss out on a series of La Liga games and the UEFA Champions League group stage. With the England national team, he will be absent for three FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Serbia, Latvia, and Andorra set to be held in September and October.
Real has said in a statement: “The operation was performed by Drs. Manuel Leyes and Andrew Wallace, under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services. Bellingham now begins a period of rehabilitation prior to his return to recovery work.”
Jude Bellingham is scheduled to be back in action in the first Clasico of this season in late October.
