Rabat – Police in Casablanca arrested on Tuesday a 42-year-old French national, wanted at the national level by Tangier judicial police.
The suspect was also the subject of an international arrest warrant by French authorities.
Police arrested the suspect in Casablanca, where a check of his identity revealed he was wanted by judicial police in Tangier on suspicion of involvement in a case related to assault and battery.
A review of the Interpol database showed the suspect was wanted under a red notice for money laundering.
He was sentenced by the French judiciary to serve a sentence handed down in other criminal cases, including links to an international drug trafficking network.
The suspect is in custody to determine the circumstances of the case and identify all criminal offenses attributed to him.
