Morocco continues to shine on the global tourism stage as Marrakech and Fez have been ranked in the top 10 best cities in Africa and the Middle East in the prestigious World’s Best Awards 2025, published by Travel + Leisure magazine.

The annual ranking, based on votes from international readers, highlights cities that offer exceptional travel experiences, with criteria including cultural richness, historical significance, gastronomy, hospitality, and safety.

Ranked 4th overall, Marrakech not only secured a top spot but also received a special honor: it was inducted into the “Hall of Fame”, a recognition reserved for destinations that have appeared on the list for ten consecutive years.

The city’s vibrant souks, historic medina, luxury riads, and culinary scene continue to captivate travelers from around the world.

Fez earned the 6th position, praised for its authenticity, architectural heritage, and the immersive experience offered by its UNESCO-listed medina, one of the oldest and best-preserved in the Arab world. Visitors consistently highlight the city’s spiritual atmosphere, artisanal traditions, and deep historical roots.

The top three cities in the 2025 ranking are Cape Town (South Africa), Dubai (UAE), and Jerusalem (Israel). Other cities in the top 10 include Tel Aviv, Luxor, Petra, Doha, and Abu Dhabi.
