    Aguerd on Sunderland’s Radar

    adminJuly 9, 2025

Sunderland are interested in signing West Ham centre-back Nayef Aguerd, with Ligue 1 side Marseille currently leading the race.

Aguerd, 29, is under contract with West Ham until 2027 but has spent the season on loan at Real Sociedad. His future looks likely to lie away from London as West Ham are reportedly ready to cash in on a number of players to raise cash for new recruits following the poor results and performances of the last season.

Sunderland, recently promoted to the Premier League, is eager to strengthen its ranks to compete among the elite and sees the Moroccan centre-back as a good choice for its backline.

Aguerd was Marseille’s first target after signing CJ Egan-Riley and Facundo Medina, but Sunderland’s late interest may complicate the French club’s plans.

Interest in the Moroccan international is growing, and West Ham are expected to receive formal offers in the coming weeks.
