MAD 2.68 billion contract to accelerate external works at Casablanca’s Grand Stadium

    ayaAugust 4, 2026

The National Agency for Public Facilities has launched an international open tender for the external development works of Casablanca’s Grand Stadium, also known as the Hassan II Complex, located in Benslimane Province. The move is part of efforts to accelerate the construction and preparation of the major sports infrastructure.

The tender concerns Lot No. 7, dedicated to external development works. The estimated cost has been set at MAD 2,681,583,684, including taxes, while the provisional guarantee required to participate in the tender has been set at MAD 45 million.

The seventh lot covers a broad range of works related to the development of the stadium’s surrounding area, including roads, access routes, intersections, public squares and pedestrian paths, as well as technical structures and service corridors for the passage and distribution of various utility networks.

The project also includes the construction of functional buildings dedicated to operations, maintenance and security, along with wastewater and rainwater drainage systems and connections to water, electricity, telecommunications and fiber-optic networks.

The works further cover the development of green spaces and irrigation systems, as well as the installation of urban furniture, including benches, waste bins and protective barriers, in addition to signage and lighting. Solar panels are also included in the planned facilities.

The tender specifications require the successful contractor to use modern management and monitoring techniques. They also include measures aimed at strengthening the local economic impact of the project, requiring the contractor to employ local workers representing at least 20% of the total workforce needed to carry out the contract.

The specifications also give priority to Moroccan-made materials and products, with imports permitted only when no locally produced alternative meets the required technical specifications.

The contract comes approximately one month after another tender was launched for the installation of elevators and escalators at the stadium, with a budget of MAD 126.3 million, as part of the ongoing process to equip Casablanca’s Grand Stadium in Benslimane.
